We were going through the details of a Memorandum of Understanding with one of our partners a while ago, and they laughed when we arrived at the heading entitled 'Prayer'. They asked, "What do we need this section in here for?We are always praying for you and our program participants!" Maybe you're a bit like us and need a regular reminder that prayer is an incredibly powerful tool for addressing the injustice of poverty. It reminds us that God is at the helm of all redemptive work. It binds our hearts to the poor and encourages us that the few 'loaves and fish' we give can be used by God to feed a few thousand hungry people. We'd love it if you'd join with us in praying for the particular situations below: reviewed 7th of April 2020
- We had a lovely event down at Harry Hunters - a lovely group of people, and a engaging film. We're really thankful for those who came along, and for the many who helped to put it together. - Last week we helped to fund a COVID-19 educational program in by NCED in Cambodia. While NCED are unofficial partners of ours, we felt this was a great opportunity to help the vulnerable overseas during this time. The NCED team will be translating government information regarding COVID-19 into the language of the Bunong people, and dispensing that information through a variety of mediums. The Bunong people do not speak Khmer, and would otherwise have no source of accurate and reliable information about COVID-19. Please pray with us for the NCED team as they work overtime to deliver this, and that it would be an effective means of protecting the Bunong people. - Our partners in Indonesia have been significantly restricted in their ability to serve their communities due to lock-downs and restrictions caused by COVID-19. Some of our partners will weather this well, while others are losing significant income streams. Please pray for God's provision for them during this time, for the communities who will be missing out on the services that they would normally deliver, and for us to work out our role in supporting our partners through this. - We're also having to significantly change the way we do almost everything - as no doubt you are! Please pray for the creativity of the Spirit as we adjust and make changes - and know that we're praying for you as well.
