Our Partners

We're incredibly thankful for - and dependent on - the folks we partner with through our international program. They are a wonderfully varied group of people, and we love their range of gifts and personalities. While we partner with them on professional and organisational levels and much of our work together involves things like proposals and reports, they are people we deeply admire and count as dear friends. We share a similar, faith-based vision and passion to walk with the poor and assist them in improving their situation. Perhaps a few paraphrased verses from Philippians best sums up our feelings about the people we work with: 'We regularly give thanks for our partnership in the Good News of Jesus, convinced that He who began a good work in our friends will sustain them in it until the day it is finished.'

TLM

Indonesia – Kupang, West Timor

As our largest partner organisation, TLM facilitate a diverse range of programs throughout the province of NTT in Eastern Indonesia. First established in 1994, TLM’s main area of expertise is micro-finance, providing small loans at fair rates to people who often wouldn’t be able to access financial services. TLM’s transformation division compliments the micro-finance program and delivers programs and projects aimed to address poverty and improve livelihoods. We work with TLM’s transformation division to implement a number of these initiatives, including funding staff with expertise in water infrastructure, and a whole-of-village program aimed at addressing stunting.

Koppesda

Indonesia – Waingapu, Sumba

With a strong focus on environmental and agricultural management, Koppesda have been embedded in the East Sumba community for over 20 years and implemented a range of programs ranging from improving cropping methods to adapting to the effects of climate change. We began partnering with them in 2018 to assist communities to improve their farming practices.

BKAD

Indonesia – Melolo, Sumba

BKAD originally operated as a micro-finance organisation, providing loans to traditional weavers. BKAD continue to support weaving groups and operate a small gallery selling locally-made textiles at fair market prices. We started working with BKAD in 2017 to provide training to traditional weavers on business management and value-adding. We also supported a large school weaving program that has now been adopted and fully funded by the local government and more recently have been working with BKAD on addressing malnutrition and stunting in their area. We love BKAD’s desire to support communities to develop sustainable, local livelihoods, and we think they’re particularly good at working alongside existing social structures to ensure they’re locally funded once the official program wraps up.

Yakkersum

Indonesia – Waimarang, Sumba

Founded in 1980, Yakkersum had grown rapidly in just a few years thanks to large amounts of international financing. At its largest, the organisation had over 24 staff members implementing a huge range of water projects throughout Eastern Indonesia. However, as this international support fell away, Yakkersum sought to return to the more local and community-based development work it was originally founded on. Today, they retain 4 staff members all of whom are from the communities that YRM serve. Staff and board members from Amos Australia have been working with Yakkersum in an unofficial capacity since 2008, after being introduced through church affiliations to their work in East Sumba. At the time, Yakkersum were coordinating a mosquito net project which distributed nets and malaria prevention educational materials to villages in East Sumba. They remain one of Amos Australia’s smallest, yet closest partners, and are able to deliver highly consultative and participatory proposals which truly reflect the needs of the local communities.

Safe Water Myanmar

Thailand – Mae Sot

Safe Water Myanmar install water filtration systems in rural Myanmar and provide education to communities there regarding water and sanitation health (WASH). We knew one of the staff members for a number of years prior to partnering with Safe Water Myanmar in early 2024. We deeply admire their courage and commitment to working in complex and at times dangerous circumstances.

Peace Bridges

Cambodia – Phnom Penh

Peace Bridges use a range of approaches to train communities in conflict resolution and peace-building. They’re a creative bunch who aren’t afraid to think and try things outside the box, and we love the way that flavours their community work. We began partnering with Peace Bridges Organisation in early 2024.

NCED

Cambodia – Senmonorom, Mondulkiri

NCED have an incredible origin story that saw them leave a large and comfortable organisation to live and work more closely with the folks they seek to serve. This posture continues to flow right through their work supporting Indigenous communities in the Mondulkiri Province. We began partnering with them in 2021, and we love their application of outcome mapping - an dynamic approach to addressing community challenges that requires greater trust by funding organisations, but provides better outcomes for the poor.

Connect

Cambodia – Phnom Penh

CONNECT is a tiny community-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation support service based in Phnom Penh, working with men to recover from addiction and re-integrate into their community. We were blown away by their commitment to their community, the way they work so hard and faithfully with such few resources, and their ability to integrate faith and service in meaningful, appropriate ways. Justees is related to Connect but a different arm, offering employment and income to young people after rehab. You can find out more about Justees in the social links above.
